Ms. Valerie Butler was selected as the Brazos County Juvenile Services "Employee of the Month" for December 2011. Valerie serves as our "Aftercare" Probation Officer. She has endured major changes in the aftercare program over the past several months and has adjusted very well
Valerie has been extremely busy as several juveniles have recently returned to the community from residential placement. She places most of her kids on a GPS monitor when they return home and has status hearings as requested by the Court.
She sees her kids several times per week and sets up programs for them to attend. She routinely attends the first parenting class held by the aftercare counselor and explains the aftercare program to the parents.
She also works closely with the placement unit before the juveniles return home, and visits the placements when time allows to see her kids before they come home.
Along with all of her other duties she is the officer assigned to the Art for Life Program so attends this programs on some Saturdays. She also goes out at night occasionally with the RRP team to check on her after care kids. Great job Val...
