Oil and Gas

Brazos County Oil and Gas Development

Activities associated with oil and gas exploration in Brazos County require a permit. Brazos County is responsible for ensuring that the Floodplain Ordinance requirements for these activities are met. This ensures that the oil and gas activities do not adversely affect the quality of life, safety, or general welfare of our citizens and businesses as a result of their operation.

Permit fees paid to the County are used to offset costs associated with inspection(s) and permit issuance for the desired activity.
