What happens if I fail to follow the rules listed in the Deferred Prosecution Contract?
A referral is forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office. The child’s Deferred Prosecution contract can be terminated. If so, a petition is filed, the child must return to court, and an Adjudication / Disposition Hearing takes place. The disposition can range from some form of Probation supervision in the community, or placement in a private, state, or local residential treatment facility.
